Poland Fashion Week vía WWD

One of the most impressive things about the Internet is the way we can discover the manner in which people of many countries understand fashion. Factors like the weather, the culture, the history and the life style of each determine the way people will interpret this beautiful world, I believe this is how we get styles like the parisian chic and the incredible italian fitting. A week ago was looking at some pictures from different Fashion Weeks around the world and a women from Poland caught my eye. She was wearing something like a gray cloak that gave her a magical appearence, a character that came out from a fantasy novel or my craziest dreams. The snow was the perfect scenario too since i don't get to se it very often in México. This outfit was inspired by the mysterious look of that polish woman. 

Uno de los aspectos más impresionantes del Internet es la manera en la que descubrimos el modo en el que la gente de diversos países entiende la moda. Factores como el clima, la cultura, la historia y el estilo de vida de cada uno, determinan la manera en la que la gente interpreta este hermoso mundo, creo que es así como obtenemos estilos icónicos tales como el chic parisino o la asombrosa sastrería italiana. Hace una semana estaba viendo algunas fotografías de diferentes Fashion Weeks alrededor del mundo y una mujer de Polonia definitivamente atrapó mi vista. Estaba usando algo así como una capa gris que le confería una apariencia mágica, un

personaje salido de una novela fantástica o mis más locos sueños. La nieve era el escenario perfecto ya que no puedo verla muy seguido en México. Este outfit está inspirado en el look misterioso de esa mujer polaca.

LOOKING FOR THE DARKNESS

One of the things I love the most about fashion is the fact that a fashion show can take you somewhere else by creating a whole new world in which the people dress in a certain manner that has never been seen before. The dark magic of the Fall 2012 RTW Gucci collection made me feel, I instantly thought about dark forests and misterious women with deep thoughts and wine lips. 
The textures of the garments were breathtaking:flowing dark skirts embellished with amazing patterns, velvet and black.I needed to look like that and discover if I could feel the way I thought the models felt. Since sadly I can't afford Gucci, I decided to try a similar makeup and, even though I never wear much, I just adored the result, therefore I decided to make it my Fall Winter look hoping to create a little reminiscence of the soft goth that the very talented Frida Giannini imagined. 

Una de las cosas que más amo sobre la moda es el hecho de que un desfile puede llevarte a otro lugar y crear un mundo nuevo completamente diferente en el que la gente se viste de una manera nunca antes vista. 
La oscura magia de la colección Otoño RTW 2012 de Gucci me hizo sentir instantaneamente de esa manera. Inmediatamente vinieron a mi mente bosques oscuros y misteriosas mujeres con pensamientos profundos y labios color vino. Las texturas de las prendas te robaban el aliento:vaporosas faldas negras embellecidas con asombrosos patrones, terciopelo y oscuridad. Necesitaba intentar verme así y descubrir si podía sentirme como pensaba que las modelos se sentían. Tristemente no puedo adquirir prendas Gucci, por lo que decidí intentar un maquillaje similar,y, aunque nunca uso mucho adoré el resultado y decidí hacerlo mi look de otoño-invierno, siempre intentando crear una pequeña reminiscencia del gótico suave que la muy talentosa Frida Giannini creó.

Decadence, romance, misterious beauty and pre Twilight vampires are the thoughts I evoke with this look, the hair is dreamy too , I will try it soon with a long flowy dress. How does this runway look make you feel? If you have tried it I would love to see it.

Decadencia, romance, belleza misteriosa y los vampiros antes de Crepúsculo son los pensamientos que evoco con este look, el pelo también es de sueño, podría usarlo con un vestido largo y vaporoso. ¿Cómo los hace sentir este look de Gucci? Si lo han usado me encantaría verlo.

MY FAVORITE THING

When the weather starts to get cold and the sun starts to hide, there is nothing that I enjoy more than wandering around and get a little lost, because, that's when I find the most amazing things. I'm lucky enough to live in a very picturesque small city where every single detail and scenario is waiting to be framed. Comfortable ankle boots, a LBD and a pleather jacket in case the weather goes down compose the classic outfit I wear for this activity. One of my favorite statement necklaces helps me to feel better when I have to compete with the beauty of palms and the magic of nature taking over the human constructions. I adore doing this and watching you do it in your blogs because I'm sure we share some visions. Happy wandering around.

Cuando el clima empieza a ponerse frio y el sol empieza a esconderse, no hay nada que disfrute más que caminar y perderme un poco, porque, es ahí cuando encuentro las cosas más maravillosas. Tengo la suerte de vivir en una muy pintoresca ciudad pequeña donde cada pequeño detalle y escenario está esperando a ser encuadrado.

Botines cómodos, un LBD y una chamarra de piel falsa en caso de que el clima baje componen el outfit que uso para esta actividad. Uno de mis collares favoritos me ayuda a sentirme mejor cuando tengo que competir con la belleza de las palmeras y la magia de la naturaleza adueñándose de lo construido por los humanos. Adoro hacer esto y ver cómo ustedes lo hacen en sus blogs porque, estoy segura de que compartimos algunas visiones.Felices caminatas.

WHAT FASHION CREATES

It is absurd and a total lack of respect towards fashion to believe that the effects of this cultural manifestation reduce to clothes. Fashion  is a global sphere that touches art, culture and of course,  life itself.

Taking this into consideration, it's obvious that cinema and photography are directly linked to this amazing world; here are two fashion short films that I just can't stop watching, feeling,  laughing with them, almost worship and of course, getting inspired by them, among other emotions.

Es absurdo y una total falta de respeto por la moda el creer que los efectos de esta manifestación cultural se reducen a la ropa. La moda es una esfera global que toca el arte, la cultura y por supuesto, la vida misma.

Tomando esto en consideración, es obvio que el cine y la fotografía están estrechamente ligados a este mundo maravilloso; a continuación muestro dos cortometrajes de moda que no puedo dejar de ver, sentir, reír con ellos, casi venerar y por supuesto, sentirme inspirada por ellos, entre otras emociones.

First the short film "Secret Garden" directed by Inez and Vinoodh for Dior. I just can't properly describe how utterly deep this short film is. The monochrome, the color explosion, the angles, the close shots, the long shots, the models, the sunset, the gardens, La Galerie Des Glaces, Versailles and Dior. Everything united in a perfect rythmic montague that creates a dance with perfection.

I've watched this film so many times that I can't remember the number, but I can say this: in my craziest dreams I've ran surrounded by french opulence and dressed in Dior. What does it take to create such beauty? Every single time I watch it I can't help shedding tears with Daria Strokous, it's like a moving editorial by Grace Coddington with a Depeche Mode musical background.A must see for absolutely everyone, not only fashion lovers.

Primero el cortometraje "Secret Garden" dirigido por Inez y Vinoodh para Dior. Simplemente no puedo describir apropiadamente lo indiscutiblemente profundo que es este cortometraje. Lo monocromático, la explosión de color, los ángulos, las tomas cerradas, los planos abiertos, las modelos, el ocaso, los jardines, La Galerie Des Glaces, Versalles y Dior. Todo esto unido en un montaje ritmico perfecto que crea una danza con la perfección.

He visto este film tantas veces que no puedo recordar el número, pero puedo decir esto: en mis más locos sueños he corrido rodeada de opulencia francesa y vestida de Dior. ¿Qué se necesita para crear tal belleza? Cada vez que  lo veo no puedo evitar derramar lágrimas junto con Daria Strokous, es como una editorial de Grace Coddington que se mueve al ritmo de un fondo musical por Depeche Mode. Es imperativo que absolutamente todo el mundo vea esto, no solo los amantes de la moda.

Second, the new video for the re-launch of The Coveteur. You've most likely watched it by now, Isn't it amazing? This video shows how fashion personalities are linked and how their personal styles and even phrases have given so much to our beloved fashion world. I just can't get over mini a mini Bryan Boy, a little Anna Dello Russo and a very, very young Karl Lagerfeld. Every single one of these children captures the essence of our most admired fashion icons, it's just genius. If you have a doubt about how amazing this film is let me give you eight words: "I've never even heard there was a Coveteur!"

Hope this fashion short films inspire you as much as they inspire me, this is an incredibly complex and magical world and I simply adore to share my view about it.

Segundo, el nuevo video para el re-lanzamiento de The Coveteur. Probablemente ya lo hayan visto, ¿No es increíble? Este video muestra cómo las personalidades del mundo de la moda están unidos y como sus estilos personales e incluso sus frases han dado tanto a nuestro amado mundo de la moda. Simplemente no puedo superar a un mini Bryan Boy, a una pequeña Anna Dello Russo y a un muy, muy joven Karl Lagerfeld. Cada uno de estos niños captura la esencia de los íconos de moda a los que mas admiramos, es simplemente una genialidad. Si tienen dudas sobre lo asombroso que es este film permítanme decirles ocho palabras: "I've never even heard there was a Coveteur!"

Espero que estos cortometrajes de moda los inspiren tanto como a mi, este es un mundo increiblemente complejo y mágico, simplemente adoro compartir mi visión sobre el.

SOMETHING MUCH WANTED, SOMETHING MUCH NEEDED

Fall has arrived. I see it in the brownish that now embellishes everything that used to be green, this is my favorite season and obviously my first thoughts run towards imagining what I will be wearing when the wind starts to get cold and a melancholic fog covers the streets. Lately (and very much thanks to the  polemic Slimane for Saint Laurent collection)  I haven't been able to stop thinking about hats, the wise thing to do was to get one and I lost my heart to this one.

El otoño ha llegado. Lo veo en el marrón que ahora embellece todo lo que antes solía ser verde, esta es mi estación favorita y mis primeros pensamientos se encaminan a imaginar lo que estaré usando cuando el viento empiece a sentirse frio y una neblina melancólica cubra las calles. Ultimamente (y gracias en parte a la polemica colección de Slimane para Saint Laurent) no he podido dejar de pensar en sombreros, la opción sabia era conseguir uno, perdí el corazón al verlo.

From the very wanted to the very needed, I just can't go through fall-winter season without some comfortable black booties that will match with every outfit and that I'll wear until I rip them apart, which I literally do, so I had to get new ones. 

 De lo muy codiciado a lo muy necesario, simplemente no puedo pasar la temporada otoño invierno sin unos cómodos botines negros que combinen con todo atuendo y que pueda usar hasta romperlos, literalmente, es por eso que necesitaba unos nuevos.

TEXTURES I OWN

Fashion is about playing with textures and shapes, the ones you choose will have the privilege of defining you. I see baroque poetry in embroidery and lace,therefore, I always want to make them my own. The dress you see is my most precious garment and it makes special every single occasion in which I get to wear it. 

La moda es sobre jugar con texturas y formas, las que escojas tendrán el privilegio de definirte. Yo veo poesía barroca en los bordados y el encaje, por supuesto siempre quiero hacerlos míos. El vestido que ven es mi prenda más preciosa y sin duda hace especial cada ocasión en la que lo uso.

I instantly fell in love with the brocade of this skirt, I simply adore wearing it and looking at it. From this angle it even looks like a golden dune forest in which I would like to wander around. 

Me enamoré instantaneamente del brocado de esta falda, simplemente adoro usarla y verla. Desde este ángulo incluso se ve como un bosque de dunas doradas en el que me gustaría perderme.

 These shoes have been created by three fashion icons that show us that these elements of dressing come from a much deeper place than the need of protecting our feet. Season after season designers establish the length of the heel, the shape of the tip and even the colors that will attire our feet for a brief amount of time, but, lucky for us in our age we get to choose to where and how we want to arrive. As soon as I fall in love with a pair of shoes I imagine to which places I could take them, the ground they will step in, how fast they will take me and with who. Shoes make us dream about the life we want as much as the substance of dreams that inhabited the mind of their creators, the one that inspired them to give birth to such marvellously dreamy pieces of cult. Carrie Bradshaw chose shoes every time there was an important event in her life, I get fascinated by the idea of being able to do that, of feeling powerful and owner of the world in a pair of heels high enough, or feeling dreamy while running holding someone’s hand in a pair of flat ballerinas. Shoes are inspired by different times, places and stories, choose always the ones that inspire you to write one. 

Estos zapatos han sido creados por tres íconos de la moda que nos demuestran que estos elementos de la vestimenta vienen de un lugar mucho más profundo que el de la necesidad de proteger nuestros pies. Temporada tras temporada se establece la longitud del tacón, la forma de la punta e incluso los colores que ataviarán a nuestros pies durante un breve periodo de tiempo, pero, afortunadamente en esta época podemos darnos el lujo de elegir a donde y cómo queremos llegar. En cuanto me enamoro de un par de zapatos me imagino a que lugares podrían llevarme, el suelo que pisarán, en qué velocidad y con quien. Los zapatos nos hacen soñar sobre la vida que queremos llevar tanto como la sustancia de los sueños que habitó en la mente de sus creadores para concebir piezas de culto tan maravillosamente oníricas. Carrie Bradshaw elegía zapatos siempre que había un suceso importante en su vida, me fascina la idea de poder hacerlo, de sentirme poderosa y dueña del mundo en un par lo suficientemente alto o bien correr de la mano de alguien en un par de ballerinas. Los zapatos están inspirados en diversas épocas, latitudes e historias, escoge siempre los que más te inspiren a escribir una.

I'm a true worshiper of (almost) all things golden, as soon as I saw these flat ballerinas i knew they would enhance my steps with their light and give a touch of magic to my everyday outfits. 

Soy una ferviente adoradora de (casi) todas las cosas doradas, en cuanto vi estos flats supe que embellecerían mis pasos con su luz y que darían un toque de magia a mis outfits diarios.

My beloved magenta peep toes, they are very high and make me feel preety, they also match perfectly with my dresses, the only problem with them is that one shoe is smaller than the other: I was in a rush, I didn't noticed and I couldn't wait to wear them, even though I find it a little difficult to walk in them (even more if you're in the edge of a fountain). When I took these photographs people were looking like I was such a weirdo, but isn't that the wonderful part of life and fashion, getting yourself and others out of the routine and never cease to amaze? 

 Mis amados "peep toe" magenta, son muy altos y me hacen sentir bonita, también combinan a la perfección con mis vestidos, el único problema con ellos es que un zapato es más chico que el otro:estaba apresurada, no me di cuenta y no pude esperar a usarlos, aunque ahora encuentre un poco difícil caminar con ellos (aún más si estás parada en el borde de una fuente). Cuando tomé estas fotografías la gente me veía como si estuviera loca, pero, ¿no es eso lo que hace maravillosa a la vida y a la moda, sacarte a ti y a los demás de la rutina y nunca dejar de sorprender?
